Petanque is believed to have originated in Provence.

Winning the game consists of bowling or throwing your ball (French = Boules) closer to the Jack (French = cochonnet) than your opponents ball.

You may of course choose to aim for your opponents (ball) and knock them out of the way !

A great way to have an afternoon of fun . . . bring your own deck-chair and imagine you are in Provence !
