Blandford & District Branch prides itself on being a friendly and informal u3a.

The groups meet in a variety of venues ranging from members' homes to local halls / rooms and in some cases, each meeting is a visit (e.g. Garden Visits).

There may be a supplementary charge for some groups / meetings to allow for transport, entry fees or hall / meeting room hire. These charges are notified by the group leader prior to the event.

It is essential that you are a member of Blandford & District u3a before joining a group - although, for new members, we do allow up to 2 taster sessions to see if you are happy with what we offer.

How the groups work . . .

The u3a works on the principle of cooperative self help. So if you have an interest, why not share it? It only takes two or three people with similar interests to form a group - and then others will join in. Please see the News page for current suggestions of possible new groups. Contact our group liaison officer with your ideas (see committee page for email details).

Everyone in the group helps each other and shares their knowledge - the teachers learn and the learners teach - Simples !

Meeting Etiquette . . .

If your meeting host / hostess provides refreshments, it is usual to leave a small donation towards the cost, thank you.
